Prof. Lydia Sciriha

Lydia Sciriha obtained her first degree in Languages at the University of Malta. As a Commonwealth scholar she subsequently followed postgraduate studies at the University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where she was awarded an M.A. and a Ph.D. in linguistics. Professor Sciriha who has been teaching at the University of Malta since 1987, has also taught in Cyprus, Luxembourg and Australia. She is the author and co-author of a number of books on sociolinguistics and is the editor of Humanitas: Journal of the Faculty of Arts.
